Did you know this about Koalas?
We all call them “Koala Bears”, but did you know they are not a bear at all?
In fact, they are actually a marsupial, meaning the female Koala mama carries her young in a pouch…like a kangaroo. They are herbivores who eat the leaves from the eucalyptus tree, and interestingly, not only do they get their nutrition from the eucalyptus leaf, they also get their water from the leaves as well! So, you’d hardly ever see them drinking water.
Though they are super cute (and huggable), they can also be very aggressive, so if you ever come across a koala…use caution.
People are often surprised as to the sound the Koala “Bear” makes – very endearing. And speaking of surprising sounds that an animal can make…have you ever heard the cheetah peep? 🙂
Animals have a way of reaching our soul. They make us smile, laugh, and they fill our hearts with a special love. Did you know that research has shown that simply watching cute animals can have a positive effect on your immune system and your health!
